Pi Day on March 14 might celebrate the mathematical constant π, but there’s a much tastier way to enjoy the holiday here in Jersey City than doing any math problems – with a delicious, homemade pie, whether it’s blueberry, apple or pumpkin.

Within only minutes of our Beacon apartments are tons of locally-owned bakeries which are the experts when it comes to a perfect pie. Place your order now and you won’t even need to turn on your Beacon oven!

Cocoa Bakery, located at 275 Grand St, Jersey City which is five minutes from your Beacon apartment, is a quaint storefront with breakfast pastries, classic baked goods, pies, espresso drinks, plus a patio.

Chef Jessica Isaacs is the owner of Cocoa Bakery Cafe and is directly involved in all aspects of its creative, culinary and business operations. She served as executive pastry chef at the internationally lauded Nobu and Nextdoor Nobu restaurants for more than a dozen years, as well as executive pastry chef at Sushi Samba 7.

Monteleone’s, located at 741 Newark Ave, Jersey City which is five minutes from your Beacon apartment, is a traditional bakery turning out Italian pastries from cakes and cannoli to pies and eclairs.

For over 70 years, Monteleone’s has been a staple in Jersey City, and you’ll taste that in every bite of their delicious pies which come in varieties including apple, blueberry, pumpkin and more. It’s a third-generation family business which still uses the same recipes that founder Guido Monteleone used when he opened the bakery after immigrating from Sicily.
