The Hague Will Soon Complete the Beacon Complex

The Beacon is about to open The Hague, their newest and final building. It will house 240 new rental units bringing the complex to 1153 total units. Once it opens the complex will become the largest National Historic Site in New Jersey.

Aptly named after Frank Hague (or maybe Margaret), The Hague building was originally the Margaret Hague Maternity Hospital, part of the Jersey City Medical Center complex. Over 350,000 people were born here over the course of its tenure.

The lobby features many original details that have undergone extensive restoration. The units feature high ceilings and large windows that let in lots of lights.

Residents bring good cheer with Wine Wednesdays series at The Beacon

When Melissa Capo and her husband Mark decided to relocate from Maryland to the New York City area, their search for a new home took them to Jersey City. They were particularly captivated by The Beacon, the collection of historic Art Deco buildings reborn as modern residential properties with incomparable indoor and outdoor amenities. Impressed by the spacious residences, stunning views and warmth of the staff, the Capos decided The Beacon was the ideal place to live.

“The people we came across at The Beacon were pleasant and welcom-ing,” Melissa said. “My husband and I loved the diversity of both the staff and the tenants, as well as the breathtaking views and luxurious ameni-ties. Everything we experienced convinced us that we wanted to be a part of The Beacon community.” The couple signed a lease, moved in and discovered their first impressions were accurate. They met so many friendly neighbors that they decided to invite them to a wine-tasting party.

Amenity-rich apartment communities thriving

With homeownership not as accessible as it once was and many New Jersey professionals preferring a more mobile lifestyle, the demand for rental apartments will continue to boom in 2016. The hottest properties remain those that place residents within easy reach of his or her workplace.

In such a competitive market, how-ever, many developers have been sweetening the pot by building in an array of onsite amenities, which can include everything from fitness centers, club rooms and swimming pools to ultra-luxurious perks as concierge service, movie theaters and rooftop terraces.

Renters snap up The Beacon’s latest offering in Jersey City

It seems there’s no end in sight to the demand for new luxury apartments at The Beacon in Jersey City as nearly 50 percent of the community’s latest offering of 271 residences has been leased since August.

The spirited rental activity at Criterion, which rises 18 stories above The Beacon’s elevated site overlooking the Manhattan skyline and Liberty State Park, follows the successful lease-ups of four other luxury apartment buildings at The Beacon, according to Building and Land Technology (BLT), which is developing the community’s collection of residences and indoor and outdoor amenities.
