Celebrate Bastille Day July 14 at These Jersey City French Restaurants

12Jul

For 232 years, the French have annually celebrated Bastille Day, the national holiday that marked a turning point of the French Revolution and the unity of the French people. Here in Jersey City, we may be a plane ride away from the home of the “City of Lights,” but we can still celebrate delicious French cuisine at our local restaurants.

When Bastille Day arrives on July 14, celebrate the holiday with cassoulet, coq au vin, boeuf bourguignon and other traditional French dishes at French restaurants located near our Beacon apartments.

Bistro La Source, located at 85 Morris St, Jersey City which is eight minutes from your Beacon apartment, is a restaurant with a patio serving French fare such as steak frites and mussels, plus fixed-price meals.

With over 25 years of experience as a chef in some of Manhattan’s most prestigious restaurants, owner Bill Spitz takes great pride in the quality and presentation of each dish. Seasonal ingredients from local purveyors are always featured on the menu as well as hand-picked wine selections.

Barbès, located at 1300 Park Ave, Hoboken which is 12 minutes from your Beacon apartment, is an intimate spot with a mix of French and North African food and vibe based on a Parisian neighborhood.

The menu takes its lead from Morocco, North Africa’s culinary star, balanced with traditional French brasserie fare. Expect a cozy atmosphere echoing the bistros of Paris but with chic Moroccan touches. Here, the Barbès Paris vibe comes to the area!
